Expanded Queries let you create more complex queries or report filters by allowing you to select multiple values from the available lists for a single search. This allows you to construct queries where you use "or" between different values of the same field. For example, you may want to search for records that have a Priority of P1 or P4, where the Status is not in the values of Not Yet Tested or Test Failed.
Note that if you want to construct more complex queries, you can use the Advanced Filters screen.
To Use Expanded Queries
- From any of the Query or Report editor screens, click the Expanded Query Filters radio button to switch from the Condensed Query Filters mode. Note you can change back to the Condensed Query Filter mode by clicking on this option.
- Select your parameters. If you are using a Windows operating system, you can select multiple values by pressing the control key, and clicking on the mouse button for each of values in a list you want to select. If you are using a Unix operating system, click on each of the multiple values to highlight your selection. If you are using a Mac operating system, use the Apple command key.
- After you have made your selections and selected the remainder of the report options you need, you can run your report or choose to save it.
